Electroless Nickel
Electroless nickel is a nickel-phosphorus or nickel-boron alloy which has many useful applications.
The typical applications of electroless nickel are on worn and mis-machined parts, a hard wear resistant coating on aluminium, and chemical resistance.
With electroless nickel the most intricate shaped components with deep or blind holes can be covered with an extremely uniform coating.
Electroless nickel gives a very hard deposit with good wettability and therefore tends to hold a lubricant film better than chromium.
The corrosion resistance of electroless nickel is usually better than a standard electro-deposited nickel with a similar thickness. The coating also provides good abrasion resistance with excellent mechanical properties.
